How to Measure Our Faith?

How to Measure Our Faith? – The gospel of today let us reflect on faith Jesus had just preached to his disciples that they are called to forgive always and anyway everytime the aggressor asks for it without if and but: it’s difficult, for this the disciples ask Jesus: increase our faith.

Jesus though change the logic of their prayer by saying: “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you. The point is not to have “much faith” as if faith is something we can count quantitatively, we are called  to “have faith”; and what is faith?  Faith, first of all is a relationship, a personal intimate trust in Jesus Christ, it’s having faith in him, trusting him by following his words in all aspects of my life.

Faith cannot be measured by kilograms, but it’s a theological virtue which was given to us with the Sacrament of Baptism.  It’s the amazing ability to relate with Jesus accepting him in my life and his Holy Spirit in me . if we live like this, we will truly llbe like the fruitful servants in the parable always ready to work but with humility. Faith always opens us to God and our neighbors. And my encounter with him makes me encounter him in others and let me share his presence to everyone I meet and in every place I go.
